Dedicated to the memory of Geoffrey Nelson Eastman, beloved son of Harrison and Loraine Eastman and namesake and great, great grandson of artist Nelson Cook. Geoffrey Nelson Eastman (24 September 1944 - 10 January 2004) was born in the town of Niskayuna, Schenectady, NY. Geoff and his family moved to the San Jose/Los Gatos, CA area in 1956, where he attended local schools and graduated from Los Gatos High School, June 15, 1962. Geoff enlisted in the Air Force in February 1963, served in Germany and was honorably discharged in February 1967. He was married and the father of three children. He graduated from San Jose State College with a BA in Public Relations, July 1971, and held several executive positions with major manufacturing companies. He died at age 59.
Dedicated to the memory of Kathy Miller Smith, beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. As an originator of the website, she contributed to this family project with the same energy, enthusiasm and skill which she applied to her every task. This website is but one small realm in which she will be forever missed by her family and friends.
Kathryn Miller Smith (24 September 1946 - 10 January 2007) was born in Washington, D.C. She grew up in Lawrenceville, NJ, graduated from The Northfield School in 1964, and from Bucknell University in 1968. She started her career as a high school and university-level mathematics teacher. She moved to New Providence, NJ, in 1979, and continued to enjoy tutoring students in math. In 1993, she became the director of the Summit Area Community School. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 38 years, two children and a grandson, a stepmother and two brothers.
